Christoph Waltz arriving at Water for Elephants Set

Finally we have a photograph of August or should I say Christoph Waltz, he was really kind to some of the fans that were waiting at the entrance to the WFE set.


An account was sent to WFE from one of their collaborators and she said;

“There was about ten of us waiting at the gate. We saw the car that Christoph has been in coming down the dirt road. When they stopped by us, we asked if he can sign some books and take some pictures. He was very nice about it. I didn’t have anything for him to sign but I did get a picture. I also told him he was great in ‘Inglorious Basterds‘ and congratulated him on his Academy Award.”

Water for Elephants Filming Tonight

I have been informed that Water for Elephants will be filming some night scenes tonight; they will not be filming this in Fillmore but in a different town not very far away. I am not giving the exact location to respect the cast and the filming crew.

Things are pretty quiet at the moment; no pictures have been released and not much news to tell. Once they complete filming in the Ventura area I feel sure that some of the other scenes will be filmed within the Fox studios. The permit that has been taken out by the film company is for the duration of one month in Fillmore and surrounding areas, and was taken out in the name of “Jerry Novak’s Big Adventure”. Well it is certainly a big adventure, especially if Rosie has anything to do with it :)
Could they be filming a redlighting tonight there is a very nice bridge in that location?

Lea stopped by the set the other day and here's what she had to say:
Dated the 20th - 22nd May
Security told me there is also another set and the paps confirmed that. They said it was right off of the road and they said they had shot Rob shooting on a train THIS MORNING.

More Pictures of the Water for Elephants Week

Ok, so I criticize the paparazzi, but admittedly if it wasn’t for them, there would be no pictures to show. Let’s just hope that now they have their shoots they’ll leave the cast to continue filming with fewer interruptions from planes flying over head.

There are some super pictures of Jacob and Walter on the train, by the look of it, this scene seems to be when Jacob wakes up one morning when he is now sharing with Kinko, I don’t think it is his first night as the 1st night he passed it with Camel. I haven’t seen Queenie yet or have I missed her in the pics?

Marlena, Jacob and Walter more pictures from yesterdays filming in Fillmore

Marlene (Reese Witherspoon) was also on set yesterday and they seem to have been filming the part where Jacob checks out Silver Star and finds that he is foundering and there is little he can do to help the horse recover.


Although it is great to see the pictures from the set, I do think the paparazzi are going a little far by flying over the area where they are filming. I am sure this must disturb the actual recording of the scenes, breaking the actors’ concentration and may even make the animals nerves. I seriously thought that by filming in a closed area they were not going to be bothered, silly me… I forgot that one can fly wings or not.

As yet I’ve not seen August (Christoph Walz) that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there, I am sure that soon he will appear ready to give his orders to the Roustabouts and introduce the most Spectacular Show on the Earth to the rubes. If Rosie was around then August can’t be far, after all he has to buy her from the town council and get her on the train before they can leave for their next show.

Walter-Kinko is also at work and sharing scenes with Jacob, the Flying Squadron have arrived in town and the cameras are rolling, which means one day less to wait for the premiere of this wonderful film.

Water for Elephants Circus Picture Today is not the Benzini Big Top

The Big top that has been photographed today is not the Benzini Brothers Big Top. This scene is where the Benzini Circus train arrives where the Fox Brothers abandoned circus is, only to find a dilapidated Big Top, broken wagons and tents, inside the menagerie there are numerous animals, including my favourite Star of the film Rosie. If you take a good look at the tent it is very dilapidated and ripped so this is when they arrive in Goshen, NY.

Once August has bought Rosie, she is taken back to the train and put in a renovated wagon which has been prepared for her. As far as I can see this is the scene that has been prepared and possibly filmed today.

Water for Elephants has begun filming in Fillmore today. Here are a few photographs to wet your appetite. I hope we get some more, this time with Reese and Christoph. Just look at Tai, doesn't she look BIG as Rosie.

The Benzini Brothers arrive in Fillmore

The Benzini Brothers most Spectacular Circus on earth, has finally arrived in Fillmore,CA.

Exciting news, yes folk the Circus has finally come to town, The Ventura County Star confirms that production is preparing to begin later this week. A film permit has been taken out as from Thursday. So with Benzini Brother painted train wagons and film permits this can only mean one thing, Water for Elephants is ready to start filming.
